Faith Definition is Not Hebrews 11:1

First let me tell you something you might not have considered! Ministers do not go to college/seminaries to seek and study God’s Pure Word; they go to learn how to preach the Bible according to the denomination or group they have chosen to be a part of. This is the reason so many ministers in our society are preaching so many errors–And FAITH is one of the most misused word in the present Christian Society. Proverbs 30:5-6, “Every Word of God is pure, He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. (6) Add thou not unto His Words, lest He reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” (1) If we change any of God’s Word, He will not back us up, even if we are sincere and are using an incorrect “word” we have been taught by our leaders! Hebrews 11:1 says about faith, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Ministers of all denominations say this is God’s definition of faith. It is serious because what if it isn’t the definition of faith? Then all these preachers are “lying” to us and don’t know what faith is! Heb 11:6 says that it is impossible to please God without faith! Suppose, you hope to come home to a dark house and decide or hope to turn the electric lights on. You flip the switch and the lights come on fulfilling your hope. Now, you could say, electricity is the substance of things hoped for( lights coming on) and the evidence is the light from the unseen electricity. That is not a definition of electricity. The light coming on is only evidence that electricity is present as we had hoped. If you see a windmill out in a field with the blades turning, you could say the wind is fulfilling our hopes to turn the windmill blades even tho we cannot see the wind, the blades are turning. Again, you could say that the wind is the substance fulfilling our hopes to turn the windmill blades and the evidence is seeing the arms of the windmill turning. But, again that is not a definition of wind. It only says when you see the windmill blades turning you can know the wind is causing your hope to be fulfilled and turn the blades. Heb 11:1 is only saying that when you see your hopes being fulfilled you know the substance fulfilling your hopes it faith. Then, the rest of Heb 11 tells how the great men and women of the Old Testament saw their hopes being fulfilled and knew it was their faith that did it.
Now what is faith. Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (1)We have to know we have heard God’s Pure Word (Prov 30:5-6) above. (2) Psalms 119:9, “Wherewithal shall a young man (woman) cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to Thy Word.” We have to hear, accept and heed God’s Pure Word!(3) If you reject, it will be like the Children of Israel who rejected God and His Word and failed to enter the promise land because of unbelief in Heb 3:12-19-“…So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief” God and His Word are One and the same, that is why we can’t please God by rejecting, changing or disobeying His Word to unbelief–We must accept and obey His Pure Word to faith. A person does not have faith until they accept and receive God’s Word, dragging your feet, wrestling with it, etc is like in 1 Samuel 15:23 – For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubborness( dragging your feet) is as iniquity and idolatry– you are trying to find a way out instead of accepting and receiving!
